Every Man, God’s Man-Spiritually, men are frustrated today because they feel they are repeatedly coming up short or are in other ways unfulfilled. Like football players in the “red zone,” they are struggling to complete the drive toward integrity and intimacy with God.  That drive toward spiritual maturity requires both a shift of heart and a re-examination of the spiritual habits. What men lack today is, first, clear understanding of what God is really after in the relationship, and second, a clear plan connected to their goals that make sense practically and biblically. That’s what makes this book special: It specifically reveals God’s heart for men in the spiritual “red zone,” and sets forth the choices they must make to take the relationship with God all the way.  Like other books in the “Every Man” Series, Every Man, God’s Man boldly gets into men’s heads and gives hope. It helps them persevere in their pursuit of God. Provides new insight into God’s objectives for them. And brings them to the new place God is calling them–a place of completion in the faith.

The Best Question Ever by Andy Stanley-When it comes to sorting out the complexities of life, only wisdom can reveal the best path. Let’s face it—we’ve all made some pretty dumb decisions in our lives. For most of us, there are chapters in the past we would like to rewrite. There’s money we wish we had never spent, relationships we wish we had never started, and perhaps a few invitations we wish we had never accepted. Unfortunately, we can’t do anything to reverse the bad decisions of the past. But there is certainly no reason to repeat them either. This six-part DVD and study guide focuses our attention on one crucial question that has the power to goof-proof our decision making from this point forward.  Donated by Chris and Dawn Iott

The Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel-Former journalist and skeptic Lee Strobel has discovered something very interesting about science. Far from being the enemy of faith, science may now provide a solid foundation for believing in God.  Has science finally discovered God? Certainly new discoveries in such scientific disciplines as cosmology, cellular biology, astronomy, physics and DNA research are pointing to the incredible complexity of our universe, a complexity best explained by the existence of a Creator.  Written by Lee Strobel and Garry Poole, this six-session, 80-minute DVD curriculum comes with a leaders guide. The kit is based on Strobel’s book and documentary The Case for a Creator and invites participants to encounter a diverse and impressive body of new scientific research that supports the belief in God. Weighty and complex evidence is delivered in a compelling conversational style.
The six sessions include:
1. Science and God
2. Doubts about Darwinism
3. The Evidence of Cosmology
4. The Fine-Tuning of the Universe
5. The Evidence of Biochemistry
6. DNA and the Origin of Life

The Purpose Driven Life-You are about to embark on a journey of discovery. Throughout this six-session video-based study taught by Rick Warren you are going to discover the answer to life’s fundamental question: “What on earth am I here for?”  And here’s a clue to the answer: “It’s not about you … You were created by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.”

The Life of Noah- With powerful lessons, dramatic video clips and excellent teaching, Chris uncovers the prominent themes of Noah’s challenge to stand up for God in a world full of sin and trust God with the task of building the ark no matter how impossible it seemed. Present-day hurricanes and tsunamis provide a modern-day glimpse into the despair caused by the flood, yet God in His faithfulness rescues us from the storms of life.

The Life of Nehemiah- The Life of Nehemiah is 4-part video driven Bible study made for a 21st century audience by comparing the ancient story of Nehemiah’s courageous journey to rebuild a city in ruins with the horrific devastation of Hurricane Katrina. With teaching by Marcus “Goodie” Goodloe of the Awaken Ministry team with Erwin McManus and Mosaic in Los Angeles, Goodie unpacks the emotions, vulnerability and challenges Nehemiah tackled as he stood face to face with a decision to risk his life for the sake of trusting God and living in obedience to Him.

Facing the Unknown- Many people feel like their life leads them from one path to the next with no certainty.  Is this the right job?  Is he or she “the one?”  Is now the time to have kids? What do I do now? Am I even on the right path? In these four video sessions, viewers will experience cinematic short videos that show Abraham living in the 21st century. What might he think and feel with the incredible steps of faith God asked him to take? After each short video, Mark Batterson will teach on the Biblical principles from Abraham’s story that apply to us today.

Crazy Love-Chan writes with infectious exuberance, challenging Christians to take the Bible seriously. He describes at length the sorry state of lukewarm Christians who strive for a life characterized by control, safety and an absence of suffering. In stark contrast, the book offers real-life accounts of believers who have given all—time, money, health, even their lives—in obedience to Christ’s call.Chan also recounts his own attempts to live crazy by significantly downsizing his home and giving away his resources to the poor.Earnest Christians will find valuable take-home lessons from Chan’s excellent book. What’s great is that the 10 clips are fresh material that directly relates to the 10 chapters in the book!  These are a perfect fit without duplicating the exact words in the book.   The study guide is a simple PDF. It’s basically 6 pages of follow up or “deeper thought” questions and Bible verses grouped in 10 clusters.

The Forgotten God-Francis Chan-In this workbook companion to Forgotten God, author Francis Chan reminds us of the true source of the church’s power—the Holy Spirit. Offering a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives the workbook is designed to initiate and facilitate both individual study, and small group discussion, interaction and practical application of the message of Forgotten God.  The workbook will stand alone, or can be used alongside the Forgotten God DVD Study Resource. Life’s Healing Choices-John Baker-The perfect guide for small groups teaches readers how to handle their hurts, hang-ups, and habits, finding strength in numbers and compassion from others.

Thousands of churches around the country have small group studies, and this book focuses on the eight concrete, well-defined choices that are the foundation of Life’s Healing Choices. This guide is specifically designed to help small groups study the principles in more detail, such as Admitting Need, Getting Help, and Letting Go.

Nooma-She: As evangelicals, we often focus on the masculine character of God. But when we ignore God’s feminine traits, could we be missing a fundamental part of the Almighty’s personality? In this thought-provoking DVD, Rob Bell seeks a more well-rounded understanding of the divine nature. A great way to spark meaningful discussion in your small group!  Discussion guide included.  13 minutes.

Nooma-Rain: Things don’t always work out the way we want them to, or the way we think they will. Sometimes we don’t even see it coming. We get hit with some form of pain out of nowhere leaving us feeling desperate and helpless. That’s the way life is. Still, it makes us wonder how God can just stand by and watch us suffer. Where is God when it really hurts? Maybe God is actually closer to us than we think. Maybe it’s when we’re in these situations, where everything seems to be falling apart, that God gets an opportunity to remind us of how much he really loves us.  11 Minutes.  Discussion guide included.

Nooma-Name: We all compare ourselves to others. We spend our lives wondering what others think and say about us. Some of us even wish we were someone else. We question why we are the way we are and not the way we wish we could be. Some of us have let the expectations of others dictated who we’ve become. We act a certain way to be accepted but know that we’re being untrue. But why are we so concerned with what other people think, say, or look like? What does it say about us if we are unable to accept who we are? Maybe if we really knew our true selves, we wouldn’t give so much attention to other peoples’ lives and live more in tune with the life God wants for us.  11 Minutes.  Discussion guide included.

Nooma-Open-Does God answer prayer? Some, but not all? Sometimes, but not all the time? Or does God always answer prayer and it’s just that sometimes God says no. Nooma-Shells-Do you often find yourself saying, ?I?m so busy? or ?I just have so much to do?? It?s easy to get overwhelmed with appointments, gatherings, to-do lists. But what are we really doing with our time? Many of us are running from place to place and it seems like life is just passing us by. We?re doing so many things, a little bit of everything, and yet it doesn?t feel like much of a life. But most of us find it hard to say no. We feel obligated. There are so many good things to do. So many good causes to join. But while we?re busy doing all these good things, are we missing out on something great? Maybe saying no would be easier if we knew what it meant to say yes.

Nooma-Tomato-Most of us grew up believing that our worth, our value, our acceptance comes from how good we are. How smart, how competent, how fast and better and skilled. But Jesus invites us to die to all of that so that we can really live

Nooma-Corner-Can success separate us from those who could use our help? Can it create a wall between those with and those without? Nooma-Whirlwind-There aren’t nice, neat answers for why certain things happen to certain people. Often the perspective of a friend can help, but when there is nothing more to say, where do we turn? Maybe it’s when there is nothing more to say that God finally speaks.

Just Walk Across the Room-Bill Hybels, Believers universally affirm that evangelism is a vital part of what God calls them to do, but very few make a practice of doing it. They feel awkward and ill-equipped, either because they’ve never been trained, or because their lack of interaction with non- Christians prevents them from using and developing the skills they do have. Bill Hybels addresses these concerns and signals the next era in personal evangelism with Just Walk Across the Room. Drawing on fresh perspectives from the author’s own experiences, as well as time-tested and practical illustrations, Just Walk Across the Room encourages and equips readers to routinely initiate spiritual conversations with those who don’t know Christ.  Leaders Guide Included.

Ergun Caner, the dean of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, challanges Christians to confront our culture with the truth of Jesus Christ. When Worldviews Collide is an eight-week interactive study that helps you understand the beliefs and assumptions behind todays religious teachings. Caner identifies six distinctives that separate Christianity from all other belief systems. Drawing parallels with the diverse religious culture of the first century, the author uses the Apostle Paul’s courageous defenses of the Christian faith in the Book of Acts to expose the hollow claims of today’s false forms of spirituality. He also examines the beliefs of four major world religions – Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam (his childhood religion) – and shows that those beliefs cannot stand against the truth of God’s word.
