Pastor Richard and his wife Pam Gerten founded the Family Bible Church in January of 1984. Pastor served full time for 33 years and spent the final two years as part time. He retired from paid ministry in 2019.

Pastor received the title of Pastor Emeritus upon retirement and still serves and ministers at FBC in the Marshall community.
